or an array of such numbers from x:
result = RAN( x )
result is uniformly distributed in 0 ≤ result ≤ x
change
range_of_random_numbers
to x -a ≤ result ≤ x + a :
result = RAN( x, a )
to set a
random_number_seed
use:
result = RAN( x, a, seed)
seed = 0 to initialize seed randomly from current date and time
0 < seed < 2^31 initialize to seed
an
array_of_random_numbers
is generated by
array = RAN(x [, a ])
e.g:
array = RAN( -100, 1 )

-100.0398732603 -99.3215471214 -100.9491595894 -99.0212341071
Note. x and a can be functions of the array index
$
, e.g. for oscillating sequences
